Advantages and Disadvantages of Selected Methods
In this website, we will try to provide you with the answers to the questions: Which hair extension method is the most suitable for you? Which one is the safest? Which is the best hair product? Etc. With the help from one of the renowned salons in Prague which already provides these services, we also provide all these different methods of hair extensions to our customers. Now, let’s objectively evaluate them.
We decided to begin with quite an unusual question and deliberately ask Mr. Stříbrný from Natur Hair studio a tricky one. We asked which method interests him the most – and which one is the best and ideal for every new customer. He replied:
“Usually, I give my word for it that none of these methods is perfect and each of them has advantages and disadvantages. From my 15 years of experience in this profession, I can say that I have encountered great results and also those executed badly from all these different methods of hair extension“.
The perfection and development of techniques comes with a learning curve in dealing with hair extensions. Some years ago, equipment used are different compared to the modern methods. “Basing on my years of experience, our salon have already tried all these methods of hair extensions and the decision which method to be used entirely depends on the customer’s choice“. Mr. Stříbrný added. .
Keratin hair extensions are widely used: “Customers often ask whether keratin method is safe and recommended. The main advantage of this method is the size which is good for customers without any experience with hair extensions. “ Explains Natur Hair salon owner. We learned further that sizes are approximately 8-10mm. unfortunately, with this method, used hair extensions cannot be recycled, which is very uneconomical. This applies particularly to products made from European hairs, that however has a natural appearance and longer service life. The fact is European hair products are very hard to find. Another disadvantage according to Petr Stříbrný: “Hair extensions clinging directly to natural hair, increases the risk of damaging your natural hair because of exposure to heat during the process“.
According to Mr. Stříbrný and with the assumption that this method is properly executed, this provides for the smallest but the strongest hold of hair extensions to your natural hair. The connections are done with a pulling hook through micro tubes; bonded part is about 3mm. only. “One disadvantage is the risk of damaging your natural hair especially if the hairdresser does not have sufficient experience and not delicate with the service“, warns Mr. Stříbrný and adds, “In some cases, hair extensions cannot be reused, and more often it could be damaged during the process“.
“This method is considered by far the choice of a majority of our customers“, according to Petr Stříbrný. The best advantage of this method is its affordability, economy and safety. “So far, we have not encountered any case that the natural hair was damage during the hair extension process“. Moreover, the hair extensions can be re-used. Hence, this is the preferred method by most of our customers. On the contrary, an advantage is the size of the connections that takes up about 10-15mm, but has more than 30 available shades which makes it possible to find the hair color to appear the same as your natural hair.
